World Nomads Travel Insurance

One of my most reliable and constant purchases has been travel insurance with World Nomads. I have been using them for over 11 years now, across multiple continents and even purchasing policies whilst travelling, so I thought it was about time to write a World Nomads Travel Insurance review.

My first time travelling with a World Nomads Travel Insurance policy was for a trip to Europe. Although I didn’t need to make a claim, I felt very secure with full cover. After that experience, I was delighted to purchase a World Nomads travel insurance policy for a trip to South America in 2011. This time around I had partial cover from my credit card, so the minute that ran out I purchased a policy with World Nomads.

That’s one thing I really wanted to include when I decided to review World Nomads Travel Insurance: the flexibility. I love being able to buy insurance while travelling, as I change my mind and extend my trips all the time. Knowing I can still be covered is perfect if your style of travel is a little more relaxed. It’s also a great complement to travel insurance from a credit card, which is often for a limited time only.

I’ve continued to use World Nomads travel insurance as we travel as a family. In fact, the first time I ever needed to make a claim with them was when my 2-year-old son became ill with Chicken Pox on a Mediterranean cruise. If you’ve ever been ill on a cruise ship, you’ll know that it is an expensive business. I wasn’t concerned, however, knowing the maximum out of pocket we’d be up for was the $100 excess (deductible). Treatment ran to over 300 euros, which was quickly refunded after we returned to shore and submitted a claim.

There are many other reasons I recommend World Nomads to everyone (including my parents). You can read more about them below:
